As a result of the group wide Total
Quality Control campaign, Komatsu had improved its corporate setup,
ensured quality and established a series of quality assurance systems
from product planning to sales and services. In 1981, Komatsu was
given the Japan Quality Control Award as the sixth recipient of
this prestigious award.
